I got married 15 years ago and whilst I had a fantastic time and loved every moment of it, I see trends on social media and wished they were around a decade ago. If I were to do it all again (with the same man of course), here are the trends I would go for:
1# FLOWER BAR

A bouquet bar features an assortment of fresh flowers, greenery, and decorative wrapping for a hands-on experience. Guests can mix and match blooms to suit their style, making it both an activity and a memorable takeaway. Not only does a bouquet bar add beauty and fragrance to the event space, but it also serves as a unique, creative way to engage attendees and leave them with a lasting impression.
Whilst the bouquet bar can happen anytime in the day, you don't want guests to be carrying them around without water for hours. On Instagram, I found a bride who asked her team to use all the flowers that were used in the day to decorate the venue, as a bouquet bar! A great way to pass on flowers that would be discarded after the big day.
2# CONTENT CREATOR

A wedding content creator captures your wedding day using a phone, from the first look to the sweet in-between moments including all the BTS and details. The goal: deliver hundreds of clips and edited reels in a highlight video so you and your new spouse can relive each one together forever. Typically, these are delivered within 24 hours after the wedding day. Whether one intends to share their wedding on social media or wants to relive their big day on video, a wedding content creator can help preserve every moment.
My photographer did an amazing job and my photos are fantastic, but I miss the raw emotions of the day. I wished I had someone filming my father and I walking down the aisle, my father delivering the speech, my first dance and everything the still photos didn't capture.
3# THE BRIDAL CHOP

It's not uncommon for brides to change into a second outfit between the ceremony and reception, but the “wedding haircut” trend (which currently has over 35 million views on TikTok), sees newlyweds slicing off their hair halfway through the day to change the entire vibe of their look.
I was a bit sceptical when I first saw the trend on social media but who am I kidding? This is totally me. I have a haircut every couple of years or so. Over the last twenty years. I have all sort of things done to my hair. In fact, the week following my wedding, I went to have my hair chopped off!
